SAM is a non-sectarian social group of men who are retired or semi-retired.  Members participate in a variety of activities with other men who have similar interests.  Our members come from all over the northern suburbs and Chicago.  Although our meetings are held primarily in the Evanston area, events take place throughout Chicagoland.

Activities are started and implemented by members themselves.  Have an activity of special interest to you?  Just put out the word to the group, find others also interested, plan your event and GO.

All Men Over 55
are Welcome!

In addition to the regular focused activities, the entire membership can participate in select social activities and meetings with special topics and speakers.  Your level of participation is based strictly upon your interests.

Guest Speaker: Zafra Lerman​

Topic: Human rights and Peace; A Personal Odyssey

Zafra Lerman is a scientist, educator and humanitarian. She received a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the Weizmann Institute of Science, Israel and conducted research at Cornell and Northwestern Universities and the ETH, Zurich, Switzerland. She developed an innovative approach of teaching science through art, music, drama, dance, and rap which was successful with underprivileged students around the globe.
