Where: Hybrid, with in person at North Shore Senior Center, 161 Northfield Rd., Northfield.
May and June meetings will be hybrid with in person at North Shore Senior Center, 161 Northfield Road, Northfield.
JUNE
Our film for June is Rashomon, a 1951 Japanese film directed by Akira Kurosawa. The date for our June meeting is June 13. Rashomon won the Oscar for best foreign language film. The film is highly regarded for pioneering the Rashomon effect, a plot device involving various characters, each of whom provides a subjective, alternative, and contradictory version of the same event. Here the event is the murder of a samurai in a forest.
The film is available at local libraries and can be screened for free on Plex or for a fee on Amazon Prime, YouTube, Apple TV, and Fandango.
