Process for starting a new activity:
Members interested in starting a new ongoing activity or a one time event such as a trip to a museum or casino would follow the below procedure.
1. Any member may suggest either a new ongoing activity or a one-time event by sending a message to the Board using the “Contact” form on our website with a full description and the details of the proposed activity/event. If the activity would fall under one of our present groups the member should email the group leader directly.
2. An announcement of the proposed activity/event will be emailed to all members and posted on the SAM website asking for feedback to be sent to the proposer.
3. If the proposer determines that there is sufficient interest then he may proceed with the activity. The responsibility for planning, organizing, being the primary contact and for carrying out the event/activity will rest solely with the proposer and any other SAM member(s) he is able to get to assist him.
4. Rich Steele will assist by forwarding the initial announcement and reminders. If the activity becomes an ongoing event, then the webmaster will create a web page for that activity where future announcements will be posted. All members will be encouraged to subscribe for notices from that activity page.
5. Be sure to notify Bob Moss at bobmoss@samgroupil.org of all events and ongoing meetings so that they can be posted on the SAM website.
