…the group discussed Nadine Gordimer’s story “Six Feet of the Country” and that discussion led into a discussion of South Africa and the system of Apartheid, and Gordimer’s means of protesting. Thanks to Don Garfield for assisting.
The story for the next meeting…
…is “The Brothers” by Lysley Tenorio, a Philippine American writer. Published in 2012, the story is about prejudice of a different kind. It takes place in San Francisco with a Catholic family. It could have been set many places and in many times, including right here and now.
