Next Meeting Date: Tuesday, December 10
Time: 1:30 - 2:30
Where: Beth Emet
In our last meeting...
...we shared our admiration for the writing of Jack London and one of his short stories, "A Piece of Steak," a story about boxing and, especially, about aging, an apt topic for our group. Thanks, Ed Dziedzic, for finding "A Piece of Steak" and helping guide our discussion.
The story for our next meeting...
...is "What We Talk About When We Talk About Anne Frank" by Nathan Englander. This story was first published in The New Yorker, December 21, 2011. It's about two Jewish couples engaged in conversation over drinks. They talk about their Jewish identity, coded in the title as Anne Frank. Marc Rosenberg will help guide our discussion.
The story is attached.
Please RSVP.
